Durga Puja, significant celebration of Hinduism, generally held for 10 days in the period of Ashvina (September–October), the seventh month of the Hindu schedule, and especially celebrated in Bengal, Assam, and other eastern Indian states. Durga Puja praises the triumph of the goddess Durga over the devil lord Mahishasura. It starts around the same time as Navratri, a nine-night celebration praising the celestial female.

Durga Puja's first day is Mahalaya, which proclaims the approach of the goddess. Festivities and love start on Sasthi, the 6th day. During the accompanying three days, the goddess is venerated in her different structures as Durga, Lakshmi, and Sarasvati. The festivals end with Vijaya Dashami ("Tenth Day of Victory" ), when, in the midst of boisterous serenades and drumbeats, symbols are conveyed in colossal parades to neighborhood waterways, where they are submerged. That custom is emblematic of the flight of the divinity to her home and to her better half, Shiva, in the Himalayas. Pictures of the goddess—with on lion, assaulting the evil presence lord Mahishasura—are put at different pandals (intricately finished bamboo structures and displays) and sanctuaries.

1st day of Navratri worship Maa shailputri

Shailputri means daughter of mountains worshipping her will establish a spiritual relation with mother nature , as she is a representation of Earth , valley , water and atmosphere.

2nd day of Navratri worship Maa Brahmacharini

The word "Brahma" means Tapa. Maa Brahmacharini signifies love, loyalty , wisdom and knowledge.

3rd day of Navratri worship Maa Chandraghanta

The goddess wears a crescent moon on her forehead which gives her the name Chandraghanta . "Chandra" in Sanskrit means moon . Maa chandraghanta is both benevolent and violent depending upon the situation . During one of the great battles between gods and the demon the sound vibration produced by har ghanta aur bell took the lives of many demon.

4th day of Navratri worship Maa Kushmanda

"Ku" means a little "usma" means warmth or energy and "anda" means cosmic egg (brahmand). She is believed to improve health and bestow wealth and strength. See created the whole universe which is called brahmand by just flashing little bit of her smile.

5th day of Navratri worship Maa Skandmata

"Skanda" is another name for war God and her son karthikeya and "Mata" is termed for mother. Lord Kartikeya can be seen on her lap. The Skandmata Mata form signifies that the goddess look after whole universe like her own child.

6th day of Navratri worship Maa Katyayani

According to vamana Purana she was created from the combined energies of the gods when their anger at the demon mahishasura manifested itself in the form of energy rays. The energy rays crystallizes in the hermitage of katyayana Rishi , who gave it proper form therefor she is also called Katyayani for daughter of Katyayana. She is associated with the fierce form of Shakti or Durga.

7th day of Navratri worship Maa Kalratri

The fiercest form of mother goddess, her appearance itself invoking fear. This form of goddess is believed to be the the destroyer of all demon entities, ghost, evil, spirits and negative energies, who flew upon knowing of her arrival . It is believed that she makes her devotees fearless.

8th day of Navratri worship Maa Mahagauri

The name Mahagauri means extremely white as she is white in colour and very beautifull. The one who worship the goddess get relieves from all the suffering in life.

9th day of Navratri worship Maa Siddhidatri

"Siddhi" means achievement of perfection and "datri" means the one who gives. So when Maa siddhidatri is received by her devotees with the full fate then she bless them with power and positive energy . Mata siddhidatri has achieved all the eight siddhis and the half the body of lord Shiva
